![]() Watch out for Rockers Toddlers are Rocking and Rolling in brilliant new classes in Bramley, thanks to a National Foundation for Youth Music National Lottery Award to Children and Church Together in Stanningley and Swinnow (CACTISS). Classes on Monday and Friday lunchtimes at St Thomas Training Centre, Norwood Crescent, and at Christ the Saviour Church, Swinnow Walk, are drawing in Under 4's and their carers to learn about making music and dance, and encouraging carers to use musical instruments in their play with toddlers at home. To mark the Double Celebration, they are holding their Open Day on 22 February 12:45-2:30pm at St Thomas Training Centre 117 Norwood Crescent, Leeds LS28 6NG when local carers and their children can come and see what happens in the music classes. Achieving the music award is a double celebration for CACTISS, who run Play and Learn sessions in Stanningley and Swinnow, as they have also won an award from Sure Start Bramley to employ their first-ever Project Manager, Andrea Hey, to expand their activities. The classes are led by a qualified leader and inspected by outside experts: recent visitor Alison Chin, Headteacher at Swinnow Primary School, described it as 'delightful'. National Foundation for Youth Music (www.youthmusic.org.uk) was awarded £30 million for the National Lottery to provide music making oppotunities for children and young people up to the age of 18, living in areas of social need. The project at CACTISS is part of their "First Steps" programme. Sure Start Bramley is the organisation enhancing the quality of life for all pre-school children in Bramley and their families.
