Deputy Lord Mayor of Leeds supports local Milkman's event Yesterday the Deputy Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor Frank Robinson and the Deputy Lady Mayoress, Mrs Sheila Robinson gave friendly support to a "local tradition" on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Councillor Robinson was the guest of Rtn Robert Key at an "Open Garden" fundraising event that seems to be becoming a tradition round these parts. The event, where Robert threw open his garden to all and sundry (for a small donation) was well attended and the fine weather completed the pleasure for the many visitors. Robert is a very well known character in Pudsey due to the fact he owns large milkround and can be seen out and about every day, he is also a very active member of The Rotary Club of Pudsey and set up this event to help support the many charitable activities in which the club is currently involved, see more on thier website. Councillor Frank Robinson represents Pudsey North Ward on Leeds City Council, he also has a consuming involvement in the Yorkshire in Bloom Competition of which he is a long-standing judge and is currently Chairman. Mrs Sheila Robinson has lived in the Pudsey Borough since childhood, her interests after her family are Town Womens Guild, Church, Flower Club and other organisations. She enjoys reading, TV and, of course, gardening. |
