Fate decreed that Chris Johnson-Green’s progress to
the Presidency would be accelerated. Now after only four and a half years
in Rotary, he is not only our new President, but at an important time for
the Club during its 50th Jubilee year. As a devotee to all things
Internet, Chris has taken advantage of much of the precious information on
Rotary web pages, both local and world wide and his knowledge of its
history and endeavors already surpasses that of many ‘old hands’ in
the club.
During his inspirational acceptance speech, it emerged
that Chris’s ‘big thing’ would be an event to raise a substantial
amount for Polio Plus, for the final eradication of polio in the world,
Given his love of fell walking, and his many successes in team leading,
it would have been strange if this was not his first choice for his fund
raising effort next May.

Now its Chris's turn to hand over his symbol of office
to the new President Elect Derek Montgomery.
Derek is already a Past President, having served in
1991/92, volunteering to step into the gap left by the untimely
death of Rod Keighley
